Dr. Madhavan Nair, a former chairman of ISRO, says that in news the project an alarming picture about Indian space programme on its less effective via industrial participation and an idea of possible restructuring to bring about more changes in increased participation of external players.
According to him, Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) is among the best performing government organisations which has mastered most sophisticated space technologies, indigenous development, efficient technology provided space missions in a timely manner, meeting the common man’s requirements as well as security needs. However the foreign space agencies also offers ISRO to lauched their satellites into space, the main reason behind is simple chieper, reliable and trustable.
Question arise here how ISRO resolve this issues timely and what is government role to handle this situation ? Answer are expected in comment section below.
ISRO's two of commercial arm one of Antrix Corporation and newly comes out New Space India Ltd (NSIL). NSIL was formally inaugurated in bangaluru in May 2020 with mandate to scale up participation in indian space programmmes and shine the future of overall space competition around the worldwide. It will also scratch to emerging global commercial Small Satellite Launch Vehicle (SSLV) market demand.
It providing satellite building and satellite based services, including supply of sub systems for various domestic and international application and will enable space technology spin offs through Indian Industry expansion.
The government recently said the private sector would be allowed to use ISRO’s facilities and assets and provided a level-playing field in satellites, launches and space-based services.
It’s the farsighted approach which has enabled India to get a front seat among the global space players. ISRO is a unique organisation, which is not only doing high-tech R&D but also developing applications for societal benefits like tele-education, tele-medicine, disaster management, agriculture, fisheries and infrastructure development.
This is the time in which lots of statements are made about structural changes in ISRO. Immediate question is, what for?
All recognise that both Department of Atomic Energy and Department of Space have a unique structure of overall management by an empowered commission with full delegated powers. All the noises by a few private players and start-ups are made without understanding Indian and global scenario. Perhaps one wonders whether vested interests are trying to demotivate.
Updates from Dr. Nair Said, that all the noises made by a few private players and start-ups (calling for structural changes in ISRO) were without understanding Indian and global scenario. “Perhaps one wonders whether it is vested interests trying to de-motivate ISRO, which is putting up an exemplary performance.”
The aim of ISRO : Our vision is to harness space technology for national development, while pursuing Space science research and planetary exploration.
